December Daily Artjournal 2014: December 5th

December Daily Artjournal by Andrea Gomoll

let us go on with the next December Daily Artjournal Page-this time I felt like doing some Mixed Media Stuff-needed to get my fingers all messy with Paint & Ink & Modeling Paste . . . it was just that kind of a Day  😉

As always when I am doing Mixed Media, I had no finished result in mind when I started and I just kept on playing & adding-slowly getting a picture of what it should / would look like in the end . . . but when I finally reached that stage-that “I am done” stage I had in mind-I wasn’t satisfied at all-it was just to busy and there was no focal point-nothing the eye could rest on when looking at it-the text I stamped kind of got lost in the Background . . . so I had to come up with Plan B (which sometimes is even better than the Plan A we had in mind).

That’s why I am still sharing the Process in the Video-it kind of does not make sende because some things I added previously got all covered up again in the end-but that’s part of the process-that’s what makes it fun-and I wanted to share it with you because I think it is really interesting how a little change can totally change a piece and really add to it. I only added some Trim & Cardboard and a Picture and it is a whole different Page and now that there was a focal Point I really loved it . . .  🙂  (except for the Gold Paint that kind of turned out yellow in the end-but hey-you just have to accpet some parts as they are-even if you do not 100% love them *lol*)

So what do we learn from this? If there is something you are not 100% happy with-just keep pushing and make small changes until you are happy with it. Nothin in art is set in stone and you are the creator of YOUR piece of art-you can decide which direction it goes in-and you can always make up your mind and change directions . . . 🙂

Danke liebe Andrea für die Inspiration! Es ist interessant zuzuschauen, wie das Werk entsteht und du dann auf einmal einen ‘Richtungswechsel’ machst. Frohe Adventszeit!!
