Old Passion rediscovered . . . the joy of creative snailmail

snailmail penpals happymail

Remember having a “Penpal” from your Childhood? Long before eMail, SMS, Skype etc.? This exciting feeling when you have been waiting for a letter and finally you found it waiting for you in your Mailbox?

I always loved having Penpals-as a Child-when I grew up-even some years ago I was still (or again) into writing & exchanging letters & happymail with other likeminded people. I loved exchanging little Goodies through the Mail, to work in & pass on FBs and Deco Booklets-it was so much fun-but somehow life became more busy and I found new things I was interested in-so this somehow got lost along the way. BUT-I do believe that even though some passions might fade over time or you take a break because other things in life become more important-I do believe that you never really “let go” and a time will come when you feel the urge to get back to that passion-to start again . . .!

So-to make a long story short-it started with some 1-time-mixed media art swaps and collaborative artjournal projects through the snailmail that I kind of rediscovered how much fun it is to open your mailbox (the REAL one-not talking Thunderbird or Outlock Express here *lol*) and to find beautiful Mail in there which puts a smile on your face and which makes your day, no matter how bad it was (or makes it even better if it was a fabulous day already 😉 . . . so I-just out of curiousity-reactivated my old Swapbot Account . . . and joined some Swaps . . . and searched some Hashtags on Instagram-and browsed Pinterest for some Happymail and Snailmail ideas . . . and BOOOOM . . . I was hooked again 🙂

Now I am really enjoying sitting here after a day of work in the quiet of the night and to craft & write some lovely letters . . . back to the old-but new-sort of  🙂  I think it is really funny how life goes sometimes . . . and how life always leads you to the things you just need to get back into the creative flow-sticking to the tried & true-but mixing in some new things that spark your creativity all over again 🙂  it is so fun to combine Scrapbooking with Mixed Media & Watercolor etc. and to create some fun happymail-send it out and to know that a couple of days later the mail you send out will brighten somebody elses Day . . . so it is not giving up what I did so far, just adding to it  🙂

That said . . . here are just some Pictures of some fun Happymail I crafted & send out and also received over the last couple of Weeks . . . some of you might know them already from my Instagram Account, where I share photos on a more regular base (well-daily) than on my Blog . . . but still . . . here we go . . . 🙂
