Gelliplate printing + Copics = big love

Mixed Media Artjournaling using Copics and Gelliplate printing

If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen it already-lately I am in LOVE with two things (well-maybe three if you count my Bookpage Sketches) . . .. Copics and Gelliplate printing! And it took me quite a while to finally find a Way how to combine both-the copic drawings and the mixed media backgrounds-with eachother. Since you have to work on special Paper with the Copic Markers to really get the best result, but this Paper is not really a good surface for Mixed Media it was kind of frustrating since I just LOVE using the Copics for coloring but did not wanted to stop having lots of Mixed Media Fun with my Projects . . . so happy I found a Way to combine both-and together it is BIG LOVE!!!

Gelliplate prints

Gelliplate printing is really super-addicting I can tell you . . . I struggled a LONG time wheter I really need a Gelliplate or not . . . finally decided to give it a shot and bought one some weeks ago and I am in love-worth every penny if you ask me!!! I am having way to much fun only doing Backgrounds-so I scan them and also use them for digital & hybrid Projects like my Copic Girls . . . love it-and I also love the fact that you can digitally encance them, make adjustments to colors etc. . . .

So a Pencil Sketch-then colored with Copics + a Mixed Media Background-digitally merged makes this in the end:

Many steps from start to finish but so worth it . . . I am in love and can not wait to explore the possibilities even further  🙂
