Breaking the Routine . . .

First of all I am breaking the Routine here on the Blog *lol* . . . because of those daily December Daily Artjournal Posts there is almost no room for other postings here-so I am breaking the routine and posting the second time in one Day (OMG-did I really just said that? Did that? Blogging twice a Day? There are times when I do not even manage to Blog twice a Month-now twice a Day-that’s definitely breaking a routine *lol*) . . . anyway-that was not the point-the point about breaking the routine I was referring to was a different one . . .

Do you know that-there is always a routine in everything we do and sometimes because of this routine we seem to be stuck in what we do . . . does that make sense? Scrapping the very same Style over & over again-painting the exact same way over & over again . . . and then all of a sudden we break out of this routine when we least expect it-when we least try to . . .! Not sure if all of this makes sense to you *lol* . . . what I am talking about is-I was always trying to find something in my Work-in my Drawings-in my Paintings-that’s “me” . . . but the harder you try to define your style-to define elements that makes your work “yours”-that speak to you-the harder it gets sometimes . . .!

So . . . what happened yesterday was-I was talking on the phone-and as so often while talking on the phone-I grabbed a pen and a piece of paper and started doodling & sketching . . . not really concentrating on what I was sketching & doodling-my mind was into talking on the phone-and all of a sudden I looked down at what I doodled and found something I really really liked . . . lots of Circles-I kind of feel really drawn to circles as a stylistic element-and I thought it was cute-so I added more circles here & there . . . and really enjoyed it and liked what I saw . . .  🙂  Afterwards I sat down and sketched some more, trying to incorporate those circles into other pieces and what should I tell you-I am lovin’ it . . . ! It kind of is “breathing new winds” into my work-if that makes sense?!? Maybe it sounds rediculous but those Circles make me all happy & excited and I can not wait to explore this some more 🙂 Sometimes it is the little Things *lol* . . .

So sometimes if you are stuck in a rut it is easier to get out of it than you might expect . . . I think the main point is not to try to hard but just to play and see where it takes you without putting to many thoughts into it . . . lesson learned  😉
