Big Eye Princess ArtCrawl . . . my Interpretation of Jasmine (Aladdin)

Big Eye Disney Princess Jasmine Aladdin-Art Crawl-Fan Art

I am so excited about this Art Collaboration . . . 15 Artists-each of them picked their favourite Disney Princess-and created a Piece of Art inspired by it. Fun Twist to the Challenge-it is supposed to be a “Big Eye” Girl . . . (read more about the Big Eye Art Movement, which started wayyy back in the 60s of the last Century with Margaret Keane here).

To be really really honest with you-when I got asked a couple of weeks ago if I want to be part of this Collaboration I wasn’t 100% sure in the beginning . . . Disney Princess . . . not really “my thing” . . . there are amazing, talented people out there creating Disney “Fan Art”-but it is just not “me” . . . you know? I love to watch Disney Movies-but creating “Disney Style” . . . just not me . . . But then I thought it would be a great Challenge . . . to make her my own-like a crossover between my own style of Girls and the original Disney Character . . . why not? Keep trying new, different things . . . right? So I accepted and I am so glad I did . . . not only was the Conversation with all the other Artists over the past Weeks so much fun-but I actually looked closer at what “my thing” and “my style” really is . . . what stylistic Elements do I use to make drawings & paintings “my own”? It was a fun, interesting and inspiring Journey . . .
So-I picked Jasmine from the Movie Aladdin-I really like her-she is not that typical “girly girl” Disney Princess wearing that fluffy pink dress and sportin’ yallow-blonde hair and a sparkling Tiara (nothing agains that-but I prefer the “modern” Disney Characters)-she has attitude-I really like that . . . (plus I thought it would be so fun to paint her hair *lol*) . . . I would have loved to create a Merida as well (just think of that fun fun fun red curly hair)-but she was picked by another artist already . . . but I was super-happy with Jasmine too . . .

So here is my Interpretation of Jasmine . . . Cre8tive Cre8tions Style . . . with Watercolor, lots of Glitter (hey-you gotta be a little “girly” at least-right?) and Texture . . . I really love how she turned out-that you can still see at the first sight that she is inspired by Disney’s Jasmine, yet I gave her my own personal touch & style . . . I made her my own . . . and I had so so so much fun along the way-who would have thought?
