“What’s your favourite medium/media to work with and why?” Mixed media is my favortie, I like to add as many layers as possible-but know when to stop!

I’ve done all 4. Here’s my post and then I downloaded the app, I’m now following you on Instagram, and I signed up for your newsletter. I’m so excited to find out about this yearlong class. I’m doing this one way or the other.
I love mixed media the most. And I can hardly finish anything without adding gelatos. 🙂 I’ve done three of the four since I don’t have an Instagram account Hope I win!!! I am over the moon excited. I’m especially glad you are going to be one of the teachers. 🙂
Have sign up for your newsletter and following you on Instagram. Also got your free app on my smart phone :”)
My fafourite medium has got to be my Neo 2 water soluble crayons. I use them as the brace Colours to almost all my paintings.

I alteady had your app installed and follow you on instagram, I’m not sure whether I also already signed up gor the newsletter but did that just to be sure…. So what next? O my favorite medium….. That’s not a fair question because I like gelato’s, neocolor II, sprayinks, acrylic paints, texture paste and much more… Why? Because I like getting my fingers dirty!!! So…. Hopefully I’ve got a chance to enter lifebook 2015, because I really, really want to participate!!!
je te rejoins dans et aventure, le mixedmedia envahit ma vit et je devient folle de peinture, gelatos, neocolors… je me languis de te retrouver à nouveau!!!!
How can I say which is my favourite medium it would be like saying who is your favourite child ! i do like using oil pastel with watercolour 🙂
Oh…posted to FB and follow newsletter, but instagram is still a mystery to me…anyway…just to repeat the FB comment…this week/today my favourite is GLUE…lashings of PVA glue…and sometimes something a bit stronger to stick down pebbles…
My favourite medium has to be acrylics. I love the fast drying time. I do love watercolours though too, and the effects you can achieve with wet-on-wet.
I’m signing up to your newsletter as soon as I post this, and will try and do the other 2 things but I don’t know if I’ll be able to. I tried once to get an Instagram account but they said I needed a Smartphone and I can’t afford one so I’ll probably have to give the 2 phone-related entries a miss, unfortunately.
Thank you so much Andrea!! I just love acrylic paint, and they dry quickly, are permanent and are forgiving!
Oh I see I have to repost – I have now signed up for the newsletter. I’m off to see if I can download the app to my PC. I can’t see that’ll work though. Fingers crossed, cos I’d love to be able to have an Instagram account!
Hello 🙂 I signed for Your e-mail. This is so exciting.I might have doubled it though because I was expecting a confirmation-sorry.
Wow, a favourite medium. That’s so hard. I guess Golden Acrylic Glazing Liquid. I love how it can be used with paint and matte medium and gesso and fiber paste and stencils and anything else to create the most amazing effects. (PS I also signed up to your newsletter. I’m so happy to be finding so many new artists to learn from and the chance to win a place at Life Book 2015.)
My favourites are two, or combination of them. Soft pastel on acrylic and then on top of that I do the free motion stitch. I love this combo.
I love acrylic paint, decoupaging, gels so many, but You asked for My fave-I’ll have to say Can’t live without…….glitter.It makes Me happy
Most recently I have been playing with the Gelli plate. I also love to use stencils in my pieces.
Hallo Andrea,
Andrea-lawinchen

I have to pick? I have boxes of paints, pastels, buttons, vintage photos, and fabric. I think my favorite thing right now is using vintage photos.
I installed the app. It looks fun! My favorite medium is Soft Gel Medium Matte. I use it with everything. It’s an amazing adhesive. My work is flawless. I can mix it with paint if that’s the look that I want. It’s my favorite product ever.
I am already following you on Instagram, signed up for your newsletter, have your app!
I love anything that provides me with textures!
I have recently started playing more with watercolors in my art journal – I love doing washes over text, as well as just abstract play for a page background, so right now I would say watercolor is my fav medium. Thanks for the chance to win a spot in LB 2015!
my favorite medium is paint! thanks!

I keep motivated and inspired by looking at all the work everyone has done and how one class can be interpreted so many different people.
I did Lifebook this year (Xmas present) and even though I’m not up to date with the current class I have enjoyed all I have done so far and keeping up with the videos and pdfs until I get my craft space set up again. We have just moved.
Would love to win a spot. I already have your app and already follow you on Facebook and instagram.

My favorite medium is paint. I love both acrylics and watercolors, they both offer a lot of freedom. I love the fluidity and vibrancy you can achieve. I also love the mess of it!! It can be as detailed or abstract as you can imagine.
Hello, Andrea! Thanks for this giveaway. I am loving colored pencils right now — my Prismacolors are so beautiful, and I can use them over almost any other medium.
I love using my neocolour crayons and spray inks. Essentially it depends what I am working on at the time. Too any to choose from.
Following you on instagram and installed the app. My favorite media are any kind of spray and stencils. Love your work. So hoping to be part of the class.
Your app is installing as I type! 🙂 Thanks again for the opportunity to win a spot!! I am very excited to learn from you and the other amazing artists!

Downloaded your app. What fun!!
hi there thanks for the giveaway and congrats on teaching. my favorite medium right now is anything pen and watercolor. not very good but playign and trying to get better.
Hi Andrea
I already do your newsletter, follow you on pinterest, and about to try this ‘app’ thing now I finally have the right phone for it. Tough one about the media but I think it has to be acrylic paint (with everything else too, but always with acrylics). Cant wait for your lesson in Lifebook if I can win a spot, congrats for being a teacher too.
No favorite medium right now. Most familiar with acrylics, but have been working on expanding with watercolor and inks. Want to win a place in Life Book to learn and play with greater skill and joy
My favorite medium is acrylics. I love them, enjoy how they feel if you use your fingers, enjoy how they blend, enjoy mixing them into new shades. I signed up for your news letter and followed you on instagram. Can’t do the phone app…have a windows phone (which I don’t recommend) which is not very app friendly.
Oh cool. I signed up for your newsletter, followed you on Instagram and will let you know the answer to the question now. I love using stencils and texture paste. I just love how it adds texture to the page. Love things to have some dimension and feel to them. 😉
Love both acrylics and watercolors. What a wonderful opportunity to share and work alongside with a different artist each month. Would love the inspiration and win a place in this class.
I would love to win a spot. I have your app. Newsletter, instagram and so hard to choose which medium. Love them all. Mixed media!!
I’ve followed the 4 steps (newsletter, instagram, app and now here is my post)
I’m in love with watersoluble crayons. Since I discovered them with Tamara Laporte I cannot live without them. I haven’t used the neocolours because they’re a little expensive for me, I use a cheaper ones, but I hope someday I’ll be able to buy them because I heard they’re incredible.
PS: Sorry if my english is not good enough, I’m from Spain!
Aloha Andrea! I already enjoy receiving your newsletter AND subscribe to your YouTube Channel (LOVE the vids — more please!!!). My favorite “medium” right now is mono printing via my homemade Gelli Plate or making paste paper. I just love the unpredictability aspect of these processes — it is always a surprise to see what I come out with (like a big girl’s Christmas) Added bonus is that these are activities that I can share with my 8-year old daughter and excite her to be a budding mixed media junkie (err…. diva???) too 🙂
Watercolor is my all time fav. love the variety you get-precise details or big bold swatches of color that mix right on the paper. looking forward to your lessons in 2015
I love paint! I love to add creamy, colorful paint to all kids of surfaces. Watercolors, acrylics, crayons that turn to paint with water, paint that shimmers, paint that screams bright color.
Downloaded your ap
Followed on Instagram – my profil is mlstandring 🙂
I have been happily taking a new class with jane davenport which goes through all the major types of art medium. Because of this, I have NO IDEA what my favourite medium is anymore. I think I will say I am most familiar with acrylics however, I love oils. (Just not the tender loving care they require) acrylics seem to be the most versatile and best suited for my individual style.
Thank you so much for the chance to be a part of life book !
So far I have been using my grand childrens water colors, this has been fun but I’m ready to try new things.
Searching the internet for guidance is how I came across Lifetime 2015, clearly the universe has shown me the path to this journey?
Hi Andrea! Put me down for four entries please! I LOVE playing with my tombow watercolor markers but have so many wonderful supplies that I would like to learn how to use…. I love acrylics, stencils, currently having a blast with the gelli plate. I’m new to art journaling and just found out about Life Book in the last few months. Looks like it would be an awesome adventure of learning and getting to know other like minded artists. Thanks for the opportunity to enter!
Hi Andrea, Congratulations on be an instructor on LB15!! Wooooot!!! Wooot!! It is a fabulous course with amazing instructors. I would be thrilled to win a spot & it would make the best birthday present ever!!!!!!!!!! (Birthday is on Monday). I love to play with watercolours and mixed media. My favorite medium, hmmmm, working with found objects so I would say mixed media/assemblage 🙂
Downloaded app as well.
My favorite medium is watercolor. I enjoy working with all of them, but watercolors are my go-to when I’m in the mood to create. I love how the color moves together and creates a little surprise when I let them bleed. I love their whimsical feel.
Following you on Instagram! (I’m Tatteredchick) 🙂
I love my Neocolors II because they are so versatile, and I can take them anywhere. I also love my uniball white pen – it’s the best one I have found & it easily goes over many mediums! Thanks for the chance to win.
Downloaded your app! 🙂
I so appreciate this opportunity. Count me in for all 4 options above which I just did. So grateful to you for this and to all the amazing teachers of next year’s Life Book 2015. Creativity gets me out of my head, and after an extremely stressful year, I would love nothing more than to be able to have these weekly inspiring teachers and techniques to learn from and to get my hands full of paint!! 🙂 I use acrylic paints and would love to learn other mediums to work with. Big Thanks!!
Following you on Instagram now. Also got your app (great idea!)
Favorite medium-PAINT!! Love getting messy, the feel in my fingers, the colors that can be achieved.

I did all four! Signed up to your newsletter – can’t believe I wasn’t signed up! Already follow on Instagram, redownloaded your app because my stupid phone deleted everything when it had meltdown and my favourite medium (for now) is probably my neocolor ii crayons! They’re so versatile, so much fun to work with and such lovely, vibrant colours 🙂 It would be so exciting to do Life Book with you and all the other wonderful teachers! Liebe Grüße!
Put me down for two entries Andrea as I have your app and am about to tell you all about my favourite mediums 🙂
I love to work with watersoluble crayons, collage and pitt artist pens (which I learned all about from you!)
I would love to win a spot on Lifebook 2015 as I have never done the course before and I know it would teach me so much not just about art but also about myself 🙂

Thank you very much for chance to win a spot on LB2015.
I signed for newsletter and my favorite medium now is watercolor, challenging for me but I love it.

My favorite medium to work with is acrylics. I can add the paint to gesso, or to modeling paste to change it and create different textures with acrylics. So fun! I love the flow of it on canvas.
Please count me in for 4 chances to win a spot in the Lifebook 2015 giveaway. I signed up for your newsletter, followed you on Instagram, and installed your app (which I will have fun exploring today.) Lastly, my favorite medium to work with is watercolor. I love the transparency of watercolor and the depth of color achieved with glazing. I love working with the movement of water and paint and the surprise of happy accidents that occur while a painting is drying.
I got an error message when posting that said to resubmit my comment, so hopefully I am not posting twice…

3 entries please, I signed up for your newsletter, installed your great app Creative Creations on both my cell phone and tablet and answered your question :~)
My favorite medium is acrylic paint because it’s what I’m most familiar with. Would love to take this class to learn all about different mediums and techniques! P.S. – I followed you on Instagram. 🙂

Andrea I am so glad you are in the 2015 Lifebook! I’ve taken 2 of your classes and can’t wait to see what you have in store for us!
put me down for 2 chances please, I just signed up for your newsletter (surprised I hadn’t already done that!)
don’t have a cell phone, and don’t have instagram so I will answer your question: I love many different media, but I would say, I love paint pens. They are quick and easy to use, you have wonderful control, and they are not as messy as using the acrylics the regular way. They are also easy to transport or take with you on holidays 😀
Wow, thanks so much Andrea for having the chance to win a spot in the online class…I’m so excited :). Please put me down for all the four entries. I signed up for your newsletter, I follow you already on instagram and I also installed already your app. My favourite medium changes from time to time. At the moment I love working with the Neocolors II. It is so easy and with only few amount you can create a really beautiful artwork. Perfect for beginners 😉
Hi! 4 chances please… newsletter, instagram, app, and then this comment! … I am really new to doing art… I started with Life Book 2014! I am loving gesso … it prepares the paper, it covers mistakes, it adds texture and form, and you can even add colour to it for more fun. Clear gesso lets you layer more. Black gesso is just too cool for words and screams to my punk heart. I guess when you are new, you have to start with the basics … Love it! (sorry it is such a boring choice, but I love playing with it!)
I love soft pastel. They are very versatile. I love them because they are very easy to use and the colors are vibrant. I hope to be the lucky number. It will be my very first time in Life book. I know if you are in there must have to be X-pectacular!!!!
I love my white signo uniball pen, my black pitt pens and my tombow markers. The white ink is a bright white and draws a nice fine line compared to most of the white paint markers, pitt pens don’t smear or run, and tombows work like watercolors when worked with a water brush.
signed up for your newsletter and instgram as well as this comment.
My favorite medium changes daily!!!! but what i come back to is most basic. pencil and paper…. I have to have something in my hands scribbling at all times.
Thanks!
I signed up for your newsletter!
I downloaded your app:) – So excited to try this out!
Following you on Instagram {under @kalliopelife}
Hi Andrea, I have your app and have signed up for your newsletter. Thanks.
I am just starting to dip my toes into Mixed Media and all the wonderful mediums – I don’t have a favorite yet but I love creating texture so I am a huge fan of gesso and other pastes.
Thanks for the wonderful opportunity
Looking forward to Life book 2015 and loving Life book 2014! I love acrylics and watercolor crayons right now. I’ve also signed up for your newsletter, am now following you on instagram and am installing your app. I’m officially a groupie :-).
Hi, I really hope to be joining you in Life Book 2015, I have always considered acrylic to be my favourite medium because it is versatile, forgiving, mostly non toxic and water soluble but I think it may also be because I am so familiar with it, looking forward to exploring different mediums, it’s one of the many things that excites me about trying Life Book 2015 for the very first time! Thank you for the opportunity!!
My favorite medium right now is acrylics. I’m playing with and trying to learn to love oil pastels.
Just signed up for your newsletter.
I can’t download the app or follow on Instagram as I don’t have a phone. But if I did, I’d follow you on there 😉
my favorite medium/media – oh my well i would say it is my bazillion pens i collect. i used to just collect and look at them. now i am trying to use them although i hate to see the ink disappear out of the pen until i view my finished jrl page.

Wow, my favourite medium/media to work with and why? I’m the one who never can choose. What to make, what to do, what I like most. Today it is this, tomorrow that. I like everything. That is not an answer to your question. Mmmm, I like yummy acrylic paint, which I hated last year, before I knew you could do nice MM things with it, and not only ‘modern’ art. Before that I liked more natural things, like pencil, charcoal, pastel. O wait, what I really find so amazing, but a little expensive: the Neocolors II. Isn’t it amazing that you can colour with it, and then wet it for even a more beautiful effect. Just like the Inktense of Derwent. Btw, great to see you are going to be in LB 2015.
I signed up for your newsletter. And my comment was posted earlier. Thank you for the chance to win a spot.
Following you on instagram!

I’m always drawn to fiber – I love to find ways to use/incorporate fiber and yarn into my artwork.
My heart is full when I create. Growing my own vegetables and flowers, filling my walls with my creations and wrapping my body in soulful expression makes my soul shine. Would love to be a part of the next LifeBook series.
How fun!!! I am now following you on Instagram, have signed up for your newsletter and am answering this question (yay – 3 chances to win!).
My favorite medium to work with is acrylic paint – although my son is teaching me watercolor. I love the vibrant color and the feel of acrylic and it seems most forgiving for my ‘mistakes’. It’s fun to explore but I hadn’t taken a formal class since an instructor yelled at me for allowing my daughter to add texture to my painting (we were having fun playing with the tools and I enjoy collaborating with my daughter)….
I’m here and excited. I have signed up for your instagram, newsletter and downloaded the app too.
Love working with acrylics, mediums and neocolour II watercolour crayons. They make me happy.
I have also signed up for your newsletter.
3 chances for me! and I love acrylic painting, i use my fingers, creditcard or plastic to paint with it.

Favorite medium…. hmm…. does nature count?! I love to collect bits of nature’s beauty on walks, whether in the woods or on the beach, and add it to my art, such as shimmery dirt from my driveway, broken seashells, leaves for prints/stamps, etc. And I have discovered a love for paint of all kinds this year that I was too afraid or distracted to really explore before. 🙂
I’m most comfortable with fiber, but am starting to learn about other forms. I would love to take this course!
My greatest hope is to remain part of the Universal creative tribe, learn with each of you, and the whole international community that is generated here. At the moment my favourite would be dylusion sprays. I love the vibrancy of them, how you can use them to make wonderful drips down your page, or with a wet one to use with a stencil, or fantastic splodges etc etc. But mostly I just love the colours.
what’s media/medium? HA. I’m not an artist but love to sew so I’d have to say thread and fabric.

My favorite medium to work on are acryclics on canvas. They seem very forgiving and versatile. although I would now love to explore the watercolors too.
Love, acrylic paint there are so many ways to use it thank you for change xx
Soooo many lovely mediums it’s hard to choose just one, I don’t love acrylic paint, modelling paste and gesso.
So many fun things – got your app, following your instagram, signed up for newsletter. Fav medium at this time? Scissors and glue stick – seem to be spending lots of art time doing collage and working in my art journal Love all the fun colors and accessories, but those are my pared down basics.
Thanks for the opportunity! Signed up for your newsletter and downloaded your app. My favourite medium is gesso, it’s so versatile. I use it as a base on my journal pages, I love the delicious structure. It’s also a perfect medium to tone down vibrant colours. It works very well with stencils and covers up any spots I don’t like. I just love gesso!
I hope i’m not too late to enter! This is a tough question as I have two closely competing favourite things! Dylusions ink sprays and Gesso. I think Gesso is probably my favourite due to its versatility. I love how it can create texture, cover up mistakes and its great for layering. I love just slapping it on!! X
Well You can count me in for 3. Unfortunately I can’t get the phone app because I have a Windows * Phone and their App store STINKS!!!! Can’t wait to go back to my iPhone. But I did follow you on Instgram, (mine is kimmierose22 if you’d like to follow back) I did sign up for your newsletter, but would have even if I didn’t need to for the extra chance.
Now for my Favorite medium(S) which I could talk for hours about. I LOVE chatting about Art supplies. Golden Gesso is the first thing I lay down on my journal pages. It has the creamiest consistency of all the different gessoes I’ve tried. Worth the extra $. I love working with Watercolor/Water-Soluable pencils/crayons, paints, markers, pastels and graphite. I love their versatility, there ease of use, you can use them in a junk journal or on a canvas. Plus they are way cheaper than watercolor tubes. I also LOVE using Golden Fluid Acrylics. They’re loose like watercolor, they come in glorious hues, and I love the way they can be layered, or mixed. They work great on Fiber paste, gel bead, spackle, and more. They can be turned into sprays to match paints in a project, they’re just a great product. (though a bit pricey) That’s why I tend to use WC pencils, crayons, etc.
My favorite way to use them is in my Moleskine journals or in my handmade journal, which I like using Fabriano Artistico 140 lb cold pressed paper or my handmade cereal box journal with card stock paper.
Well enough of my mini novel. Thanks for the chance to win a spot with Life Book 2015. (((HUGS)))
yeahaa, Just completed all four of the options to win….by the way… wow, what a lovely app.
At this moment I just love to work with ink (talens drawing ink, dylusions spray ink), my distress paint dabbers and my posca paint markers.
And I am totaly into learning to work with new media.
Sorry I forgot to say on my comment, that I followed you on instagram.x
I am so excited about life book. I have a very strange disease called Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. There is a massive amount of physical pain on the left side of my body at the nerve level. I have lost so much of my life to this pain. While receiving treatment, my Doctors told me to develop my art as much as I could. That it would actually lower my pain. SURE ENOUGH!!! It does just that. Altho there is no cure and the pain is chronic, I come back to my art, this thing I love, and it gives back to me. Less pain. I would love to give back to others that experience what I have experienced with incurable diseases and show them how art can make their life…… a lot less painful! But, I need to gather as much teaching and information as I can. Disabilities also rob you of an income. So… winning this awesome gift would be a blessing beyond belief. I would take what I have learned from all you wonderful teachers and give back to those that hurt. Physically Hurt. To those who are so stressed and just can’t release all that pain. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to win this incredible LifeBook experience.
My favorite mediums are Dylusional Inks, Watercolors, Acrylics, Stencils, Pen and Ink, Pan Pastels I love Texture paints too. I can’t believe I did it, but I signed up for all 4 options to win this cool life book spot. Instagram, Newsletter, downloaded app and left a piece of my heart here on your comments. Oh, and by the way……. I sure do want to win!!!! Donna ;))
