It’s almost December – can you believe it?!? Which is leading to … December Daily Art. In the Past I used to do December Daily Albums, December Daily Journals etc. – which I loved – but creating a whole Page each Day during the busy Time of December is a struggle sometimes – more often than not I fell behind – and eventually fell off the bandwagon along the Way … don’t ask how many unfinished December Daily Books I have in my Drawers (I could call them December Weeklys instead of December Dailys – that would be a better fit).
So … I was thinking what I want to do this Year – I still felt the urgent need to do SOMETHING – to push myself to create daily during december – because especially in this busy time of Year for me it’s important to take some ME-TIME each Day – and even if it’s only 10 Minutes – take some time out of the busy Day and create SOMETHING with having some festive Tunes playing in the Background and a Cup of Hot Chocolate at my Side … so I came up with this Idea of an Advent Calendar – but not one where you open a tiny Door each Day to reveal a cute Image or some Chocolate – but one where I fill in a tiny Spot each Day – where I create a small piece of Art each Day … so by the end of the 24 Days leading up to Christmas I will have a whole Piece of December Daily Art reflecting my Month of December (well – up till December 24th – or December 25th if you’re in a Country celebrating on the 25th).
I will create with Watercolors, Markers, Pens, Ink, Colored Pencils etc. – feel free to fill your Calendar in any Way & any Style you like and you feel like using … mix Supplies, work as simple or as detailed as you like – you could also add some Photos for some Days or Ephemera (Ticket Stub from visiting a Christmas Market etc.) – possibilities are endless – for me it was just important that it’s something small & doable for each Day – something that doesn’t take up to much time so we’ll be able to dedicate the needed time for it each & every Day without feeling guilty – no matter how busy the Day was / gets … 🙂
In the little Video following I will explain and share how I prepare my “Calendar” – very simple and easy – and I hope it will inpire you to join me and create your own Artsy Advent Calendar …
