Art-Fun at the Beach

There is nothing better than spending some time away from your everyday-life-even if it is only 2 or 3 days-spending time outside, seeing different things, doing different things-if’s just so refreshing and inspiring. We just spend 3 Days at the baltic ocean-our favourite place to go for a short-trip since it only takes us 2 hours by car to get there. we have had a fun time in Warnemuende, at Insel Poel & Wismar-and of course I sneaked in some art-time, because there is nothing better and more inspiring than being outside in nature / at the beach with some yummy art supplies and to just see where your muse will take you . . .

I try to travel light when it comes to art supplies, just the basics-so I took my Arches Travel Sketchbook, a Winsor & Newton Watercolor Set (I put it together myself, so it is not one of the pre-made Sets you can buy-I prefer to add MY favourite colors to it instead of the “basic colors” you usually get with the pre-made sets), an Aqua Brush, my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, a small selection of Paint Markers (for Painting/Drawing/Doodling on Rocks) and a variety of Pencils, Pens, Markers & Brushes in my handy dandy Derwent Travel-Case . . . that’s it . . .

. . . oh . . . and of course do not forget some Coffee *lol* . . .

Those are the Rocks I found at the Beach & I painted / doodled / lettered on. I left them at the Beach as a RAK for some Strangers to find-totally love to do that. I always put my Website-Address on the back of the rocks and this time I even got a Message already from one lady who found one of the stones-she visited my Blog and send me a little Message-how fun is that?!? (Hi Mareen-in case you are reading this!)

And of course I forgot to put some sunscreen on my neck / back-so after almost 4 hours at the beach you can guess what I ended up with *sigh* . . .

I also did some sketching in my Watercolor Travel Book-a Seahorse-as you might be able to tell not sketched inspired by something local at the baltic ocean *lol*-but I talked to somebody about sketching a Seahorse the other Day and I totally felt like sketching one 😉

And a quick Sketch inspired by the local Seagulls at the Baltic Ocean . . . TOTALLY love Seagulls-nothing better than waking up by the sound of Seagulls . . . this always has VACATION written all over it for me 🙂

And another quick Beach / Dunes Scene-this time Watercolor only-because I liked the faded yet vivid look and felt it did not needed much more (linework) . . .

And of course I had to share some Scopes from the Ocean as well . . . I can tell you-I am really addicted to this Periscope App. I really did not thought I would fall for yet another Social Media thing-I use & love Instagram, Facebook to a certain amount-twitter more or less (rather less) and that’s it-but Periscope really got me hooked-it is so fun to broadcast live and to “hang out” and share your art, your process, your thoughts etc. with other likeminded people / creatives-as well as watching other peoples Broadcasts . . . FUN-I can tell ya-so if you have not checked it out yet-you better should-you are missing out on a lot of fun and I am sure this App will grow much much bigger and this is only the beginning of a whole new way of engaging with others / with your followers . . .
